Did not receive item from ebay after 45 days, will credit card refund the money?
I did not receive an item on ebay and the 45 days to open a dispute have passed. What are my options? Will my credit card company refund the money if I can prove I didn’t receive the item, even though I used paypal?
You should be able to contact PayPal. I’m fairly sure that your credit card company wont do anything. You’d think that the only way a credit card company would refund/credit you back would be if you did not authorize a purchase. Although your company would have to open a case against it.
But contact PayPal. I’ve never had a problem with PayPal. I bought a “new” product off eBay once and it never worked when I got it…… I contacted PayPal and had it cleared up within two weeks. Not sure if they’ll do anything due to the fact of the time that has elapsed.

LikeDislikesorry….once the 45 day dispute has ended them the payment has gone to the seller………in fairness to paypal this is one of their rules…when you pay by credit card?, paypal receives it instantly and holds off paying the seller until the seller has sent them confirmation that your item was sent to you…plus…it gives you time to dispute weather the item you got was received or not and undamaged and what is what you paid for……

LikeDislikeWell, you know now that you should never let the deadlines to file a complaint pass.
You are not entirely out of options however. I would contact PayPal and open the dispute anyway. This becomes part of the seller’s record in PayPal, even if you and other people can’t see it. Also, file an Item Not Received dispute with eBay. This is a separate complaint.
If he makes a habit of racking up these kinds of complaint it will become easier for the next person he tries this on. Neither one of these get your money back though.
Since you used a credit card (good for you!) call the number on the pack of the card and explain the problem and open a complaint with them. Depending on your credit card, you may be able to make a complaint for up to 90 days – but don’t delay any further.
The seller will have to prove to the credit card company that he shipped. PayPal will also be aware that the credit card company is yanking back the funds. If he can’t prove you received the item, there is nothing they can do about it.
You can’t prove a negative – that is that you never got something. The credit card company takes it on faith because you are a customer of theirs. The seller has to refute the chargeback with proof that the item was received by you.
Just fill out any paperwork the card company sends you with as much detail as you can. Maybe print out the auction and include it in any forms they send you.
Just keep in mind that most card companies limit the number of times per 12 month period you can make such a claim.
