How does Paypal recover money if ebay seller closes account?

I paid for an item on ebay and never received the product. The seller closes his paypal account the day he received payment. How will I get my money if the seller closed his account? Can paypal take money out of seller’s bank account after they already closed the account since this is fraud??
submit a dispute. You will get your money back from paypal. They will take the hit whether or not they can recieve the money from the seller.
No but if you paid with Paypal, you are protected by the Buyer Protection Plan and Ebay will reimburse you. Ebay is an auction website. They dont have legal authority to levy against an individual or a business’ bank account to pay you. You have to go through the regular dispute process before 45 days goes by.

in general Paypal will NOT refund out of its own pocket, but if the transaction CLEARLY traces back to an ebay posting it will. file a fraud dispute within Paypal.
