I’m going to Tokyo for 10 days and maybe the surrounding areas.
I have my flight and hotel booked, I just need money now for food and travel and I guess some shopping for myself.
I was thinking maybe 80,000 yen?
just letting you know, cute pencils are around 300 yen, lunches 700 yen and thats only if you go to a convinience store, a subway ticket around 500 yen, a can/bottle of tea/soda 150 yen, and small ahdorible pushie doll 1000 yen.
and, when you go to the game center (arcade?) inside of using 25 cents per game, u put in 100 yen which = to a little more than a dollar
compared to the states, japanese everyday things are pretty expensive. just letting u know…
like, i remember when i mom and i drove up north from Tokyo on a minivacation and we spent 10,000 a day on food, survinors, and other little things u buy when on vacation

Sorry to say, but if you’re staying for 10 days, 80,000 yen might not cover for all the food, travel and shopping in total.
But then again that depends on how much you’ll eat out, travel around or shop.
If you’re going to eat out here are some options:
Fast food: McDonalds is around 500 plus for a meal.
Restaurants: Need 1000 yen or more
I don’t know how much it costs in hotels though.
Lunch boxes in convenience stores; From 300 yen Onigiris from 100 yen
Travel: subway train costs from 200~300 depends on how far you’re traveling.
Shopping for souvenirs: There’s a 100 yen shop, plus a 5 yen tax.
There could be bargains around. I’m not very familiar with Tokyo, but I’m sure they have some places where they sell vintage stuff that are not too pricey. If you’re looking for branded stuff, I believe that Ginza is the place for you. Shibuya, Shinjuku, Harajuku and Akihabara are famous places to visit, too.
Hope you enjoy your stay in Tokyo!
