I loved the book. I was disappointed that the film wasn’t anything like the book and I thought it was kinda cliche. The other thing that disturbs me is how much Helen Hunt has aged and grown so skinny the last time I saw her! Her looks made me uncomfortable throughout the film because she was so gaunt and haggard that I thought she might drop dead at any second! Plus, with her sunken cheeks, protruding bones and fine lines, she looks wayyy older than Bette Midler! The only star in the movie is Bette Midler.
Dear Helen Hunt….PLEASE EAT SOMETHING!!!!

Helen Hunt is an incredibly talented actor. However, her thin and almost emaciated appearence in this movie was most disconcerting. Is she anorexic? Her overly aged appearence may be attributable to being overly thin –beyond Hollywood thin. Not a great role model for young women battling anorexia. Hunt is so refreshingly candid and bright. If she is struggling with anorexia, she should disclose and seek help –for herself and the many young aspiring actresses who seek to emulate her
