Watch Sam’s Lake film. A film “Sam’s Lake” by Andrew C. Erin. Sam’s Lake is a great, interesting low-budget Horror Movie which tells the story about Sam (Fay Masterson) who is taking her friends away at her lake for the weekend. Along the way, we meet Sam’s other friend Jesse (William Gregory Lee) who joins in on the fun, which includes telling some ghost stories around a campfire. he story leads from one situation to another, and before they know it the friends are at the scene of the murders and find themselves being picked off one by one. Watch A Mighty Heart film. A film “A Mighty Heart” by Michael Winterbottom. This is an intimate film. Basically a love story set in the political wreckage after the attack on the World Trade Center. As such, we don’t get much detail about the different factions in Pakistan or who is “good” or “bad”. the power of the camera which moves across the streets of Karachi and into the homes of its citizens, creates a pulse that moves the film forward with both excitement, dread and fear. Fear for not only Daniel Pearl’s life, but for many victims of the destructive nature of terrorism the world over. A Mighty Heart is a story that is tough to experience, but also one needing to be seen. There are few things that I can say went wrong with the film, and although I may never have the necessity to view it again, I’m glad I took the time to sit down with this tale of hope, compassion, and life in the midst of devastating tragedy. Watch The Children of Huang Shi film. A film “The Children of Huang Shi” by Roger Spottiswoode. This movie would have been better as a fantasy instead of a historical drama. The story follows the true adventures of British journalist George Hogg during WWII in China, who witnessed atrocities at the hands of Imperial Japan. Hogg eventually ends up at a school, where he reluctantly, of course, becomes attached to the children. At the end of the day, this played out more like a simple account of an event that had happened (of course again with artistic license taken), and the documentary-styled interview segments at the end while the end credits play, affirmed what happened and gave us some insights into Hogg’s character, much more that what the film had portrayed. Watch The Andromeda Strain film. A film “The Andromeda Strain” by Mikael Salomon. I can’t begin to say all that is bad about this extremely long terribly boring mini-series. First off the script is terrible. The novel “Andromeda Strain” by Michael Chrichton could have been updated to 2008 U.S.A. without doing the overboard nonsense as clearly demonstrated in the above-mentioned awful remakes. i got bored with this silly remake after only a few minutes . right after the 19th guy got shot in the head i turned it off. someone suggested they should never remake a good movie because there is nowhere to go except down . made for TV or cable are usually stinkers anyway. Watch Bat Man film. A film “BatMan” by Tim Burton. What is all this yap about Michael Keaton as Batman? Yes, he was Batman, and he was a GREAT Batman. The story follows our Caped Crusader in his quest to clean up Gotham which is in the midst of a frightening crime wave. There was much unnecessary angst when comic actor Michael Keaton landed the title role with fans feeling that was a sure sign the film would lean towards the campy style evident in the famous television series. Tim Burton has a unique way of doing Batman, and I think most people can agree that it fits the characters and the story. To bad Warner Bros. got rid of him after the 2nd film. Watch The Brothers Grimm film. A film “The Brothers Grimm” by Terry Gilliam. I don’t think myself overly literary for reading Bruno Bettelheim’s “The Uses of Enchantment,” but forgive me for being obscure. In his book, Bettelheim analyzes common fairy tales for their underlying psychological and cultural meanings. This dark-humored film relates the completely-fictional story of the famous German brothers, Wilhelm (Matt Damon) and Jakob (Heath Ledger) Grimm, who created dozens of fairy tales and nursery stories for children in the early 19th Century. Someone compared the movie to Burton’s Big Fish, another film dismissed or ignored by critics and public. Although Burton’s and Gilliam’s sensibilities differ, I take the writer’s point. The confident, poetic handling of myth and archetype in both astonishes. Watch free full The Brothers Grimm film online.
Watch The Host film. A film “The Host” by Joon-ho Bong. The Host is a film that people have been talking about a lot during its production and the teasers and posters I’d seen to date had gotten me pretty interested. The Host elicits every feeling, every sense of urgency, dread, sadness and happiness with ease. And somehow it manages to cram all of that into the first fifthteen minutes. After that it speeds along and doesn’t let up. I would think there was a massive audience for this film amongst English speaking audiences…if only they would be given the chance to see it. Where’s the mainstream distribution in Australia for a film like this? Best special effects and monster effects I’ve seen in years. Watch free full The Host film online now..!!
Watch Ella Enchanted film. A film “Ella Enchanted” by Tommy O’Haver. Given the recent success of fantasy movies, it was probably inevitable that “Ella Enchanted” would get its turn on the silver screen. Like “Harry Potter,” Gail Carson Levine’s delightful re-imagining of Cinderella has been popular with both readers and critics, and contains plenty of imagination and engaging characters. I’m certainly glad I was completely unaware that this was based on a book as most of the negative comments here seem to be from people who complain about changes. I can say, that not knowing the original, this story flowed just fine. I liked it more than Shrek, because of the fact that it was less ‘polished’ and maybe more British. I would definitely recommend ‘Ella Enchanted’ to anyone who wants a fun and entertaining film. Watch free full Ella Enchanted (2004) film online.
Watch The Princess Bride film. A film “The Princess Bride” by Rob Reiner. I watched it with my parents when I was young, and have been watching it constantly ever since. It’s a movie that I just can’t seem to grow tired of. For one, I absolutely love the medieval fantasy genre, both in books and movies. The plot is rich, with adult innuendos the kids will miss all together and levels of wit to entertain the whole family. The dialogue is full of very funny catch phrases- many of which are still part of my repertoire more than a decade after I first saw the movie.
