Watch The Brothers Grimm film. A film “The Brothers Grimm” by Terry Gilliam. I don’t think myself overly literary for reading Bruno Bettelheim’s “The Uses of Enchantment,” but forgive me for being obscure. In his book, Bettelheim analyzes common fairy tales for their underlying psychological and cultural meanings. This dark-humored film relates the completely-fictional story of the famous German brothers, Wilhelm (Matt Damon) and Jakob (Heath Ledger) Grimm, who created dozens of fairy tales and nursery stories for children in the early 19th Century. Someone compared the movie to Burton’s Big Fish, another film dismissed or ignored by critics and public. Although Burton’s and Gilliam’s sensibilities differ, I take the writer’s point. [..YouTube..] I read that as well.But what I don’t understand is how in the world does an actor or actress have problems with a character that THEY THEMSELVES give life to?On top of that, he’d done a lot to prepare for the role of the Joker, yet when he became the character apparently it drained him physically and mentally.

[..YouTube..] Yes, Heath does something called “method acting.”He spent weeks alone in a hotel room, writing in a journal the Joker’s thoughts, perfecting his voice and posture. He basically became the character.Of course after some time it really began to take a toll on his health, to the point where he couldn’t sleep at all.:( It wasn’t an intentional overdose, but it seems the prescription pills he took did not go well together. I blame his doctors for not realising that.

[..YouTube..] The original Grimm brothers wrote the first fairy tales such as the three little pigs cinderella snow white and much more.But in these original ones they focused on sex drugs violence and such.Over the years they were made safe for children and made into cartoons with disney.The original books of thm are still sold today and would be interesting to young adults and adults to see a different side of the story.I haven’t read them but am hoping to.Sorry for the boring long post btw lol.

[..YouTube..] looks good ill watch it and i have a little recamendation to go on TheSistersGrimm dot c*o*m its a series of books bye michael buckley it realates to the brothers grimm because I think will is the greatgrand parent of Daphne and Sabrina Grimm Daphne the youngest Grimm.The sisters parents have been kidnaped and there case has gone cold so with no other reletives the 2 girls have been placed in adoption homes until there grandmother(that no one knew about)took them in.Thats when the book gets good

[..YouTube..] you wouldnt think that from how these fairytales are sort of cleaned up nowadays that they were originally pretty dark. there is usually alot of death, violence, vengeance, etc. these stories were indeed true to the brothers’ name. :)
