The Pianist - watch free
Watch The Pianist film. A film “The Pianist” by Roman Polanski. The Pianist is the true story of Wladyslaw Szpilman, at the time Poland’s most acclaimed pianist whose life is transformed during the Nazi occupation of Warsaw beginning in 1939. The Pianist follows up and coming piano player Wlad Spielzman from his days as a local hero to a prisoner of war to his time in the ghettos, surviving only by the kindness of strangers. I think many people have touched on this before but what makes this film so amazing and well crafted is because Spielzman is a man that we can all relate to. Polanski’s film deserves a strong presence in the 2003 Oscar nominations, including a nomination for Adrien Brody’s amazing performance, Polanski’s sublime direction, best adapted screenplay and, obviously, best picture. [..YouTube..] And even if this film showed the horrible nature of a lot of the Germans, doesn’t mean all Germans support Nazis. Few (Chinese mainly) diss/knew the Japanese for what they did, yet the whole world knows what the Germans did. But the Germans paid a huge debt for WW2 whilst the Japanese did not , and my German neighbours are very nice people! Please don’t be so stereotypical, whoever is going to call a German, ‘Nazi’ next. I’m not trying to put down Japanese people here, but that was an example.

[..YouTube..] Yeah, Adrien Brody really humanized Spiellman (I have trouble spelling the name) as a human being who only wanted to play music. He deserved that OscarSchlinder’s List is another great film about the Jewish survivors of the Holocaust, but it was more about Liam Neeson’s character’s journey from a selfish man to a caring one.

[..YouTube..] this is definatly my favorite movie. I first saw it in my history class, and then had to bring it home for the rest of my family to see. It is remarkable how he survived. The thing i liked about it, was it showed the rutality, and how not all the jews died, and not evey nazi wanted to be in that position. They were all just people.

The main reason, in my opinion, is the fact that some survivors have some amazing stories, that makes a great movie material.Trying to survive in a labor camp during the holocaust, knowing that sooner or later you’ll be murderd is a very surreal situation. Watching this kind of situation in a film, makes you think about the meaning of life - and naturally, this is what filmakers wants to make think about.

[..YouTube..] May I intercept? This movie is based solely on story of Wladyslaw Szpilman’s survival during the extermination of Jews in Warsaw. Though it does reflect the actions made by the Nazi’s against the Jews of Warsaw in WW2, it doesn’t illustrate or reflect the war entirely. Even though there are a few rebellion scenes in the movie I wouldn’t flock to call it a “War Movie”.

[..YouTube..] I cryed my eyes out, it’s soo realistic and well done I’m glad they won like 3 Oscars it was brilliant i haven’t yet seen it all! I wasn’t allowed to see the wheel chair bit as I’m too young-but I’m greatfull it sounds horrid! Hitler=Brhhh you know i actually mentally and physically hate him. All he thought about was himself=I think!
