Watch Vantage Point film. A film “Vantage Point” by Pete Travis. What can I say? This film is a gimmick film that relates the same event through the eyes of eight different characters that each hold a piece of the puzzle. The acting is uniformly excellent, especially that of Dennis Quaid, who I had previously considered a mostly comic actor, but is very convincing here as a Secret Service agent. n the theater I was watching some people called out their annoyance of “again?!” on the fifth rewind, which I find amusing as the filmmakers are simply trying to come up with something new in these sequel-ridden times. Vantage Point is not a bad film. Like Jumper I tried to like it, but there are just too many things about it that hurt it. It tries it’s hardest to come off as a smart action thriller, but it’s faults are too much to be forgiven. This film is definitely worth the overpriced ticket at the box office. Watch Pathology film. A film “Pathology” by Marc Schoelermann. When brilliant Doctor Ted Grey gets a job working in a University Pathology lab, he falls in with a group of young brilliant doctors led by Doctor Jake Gallo. Lots of gore during the morgue scenes, open chest cavities, brains being taken out of skulls etc. Lots of sex scenes and drug usage. The first 10 minutes, while well done, gave me pause as to whether the filmmakers would get beyond showing how extreme and outrageous they could be to an actually engaging story. The cast led by Milo Ventimiglia as Grey and Michael Weston as Gallo are all good. The direction by Marc Schoelermann keeps things moving at a brisk pace. As befits a movie about Pathology doctors, it is quite gory and bloody, but it is never over the top. It is very enjoyable and worth watching if you don’t take it seriously. Watch Doomsday film. A film “Doomsday” by Neil Marshall. “Doomsday,” the third feature from British “B”-movie tour de force writer-director Neil Marshall, is a rehash of several distant cult movies, including both of Marshall’s previous films, which are also considered cult classics. I saw it in a criminally tiny Saturday afternoon audience (four people) and we all had a terrific time. Don’t expect sense, great acting or original dialogue, just go for the kicks and enjoy. In 2008, there’s a sudden outbreak of the unstoppable and incurable “Reaper Virus in Glasgow. In order to prevent further spreading, the British government simply decides to build a wall all around Scotland and leave everyone within the borders to die a slow and painful death. While I’m never completely sure where the story is about to go, I’m eager to find out what’s next. All in all, it’s a righteous romp through a post-apocalyptic quarantined country. Watch Welcome Home, Roscoe Jenkins film. A film “Welcome Home, Roscoe Jenkins” by Malcolm D. Lee. Many of us have family members that are almost as embarrassing as some of those depicted in the film. It also told a story about life! If you went to see this movie expecting a big story line. a big climatic ending. a moving personal event then you would be let down. This was without a doubt a cast of characters, and not your usual every day family members and each character member had his or her own shtick and this helped make this a fun movie. While Welcome Home, Roscoe Jenkins is typical, has some interesting cast members, and can be a bit insulting, I still feel like this movie really didn’t mean to hurt anyone, just to have fun and deliver a few laughs. Watch Patton film. A film “Patton” by Franklin J. Schaffner. Patton was a man who lived for war. As a leader of men, he was exceptional. His speech at the beginning of the movie is vintage Patton, an almost exact reproduction of a speech Patton actually gave to Third Army. The performance of George c scott as Patton is brilliant, it shows a complex and demanding character riddled with contradictions.
Watch The Bridge on the River Kwai film. A film “The Bridge on the River Kwai” by David Lean. This film is long (161 minutes), is almost 40 years old, and yet still is terrific, still holds up and will forever, I suspect, be considered one of the greatest war movies ever made. As an integral part of their war effort, the Japanese have ordered a strategic bridge to be built across the Kwai River to facilitate the transport of troops and equipment. Awarded the DSO for heroism during the defence of Singapore, he refused an order to join the evacuation so he could remain with his men during captivity. In the hellish conditions of the camp, he worked courageously to ensure that as many of his men as possible would survive. The Bridge on the River Kwai- a war movie or an anti-war movie? I think Lean clearly preferred the latter, but the subject matter and his approach to it may have landed somewhere in between. this message has only recently been re-evaluated with the also-brilliant masterpiece “Saving Private Ryan.” But, keep in mind that it took forty years to regain the power that this film inspired so long ago. Watch Red Eye film. A film “Red Eye” by Wes Craven. Beautifully filmed, well acted, tightly scripted suspense movie. Had me on the edge of my seat. I liked the lead actress very much, and thought the villain was very well done. Hitchcock understood that people go the the movies to have a good time. Something that Hollywood seems to have forgotten in recent years. This is a thriller, but it has plenty of laughs and always has one eye winking at the camera. The amazing part is that the end was not anti-climatic. I was not disappointed in the end. I felt satisfied. The trailer does not do the movie justice. All the actors are amazing and the action is realistic and fun. The movie is also very stylish and it has this overall creepy vibe to it. The setting works well since there is an obvious fear of isolation and no escape. Overall, the tone of the film is consistently creepy. Red Eye is an engaging thriller and it’s one of the best movies of 2005. Watch free full Red Eye film online.
Watch Flightplan film. A film “Flightplan” by Robert Schwentke. Flightplan is a psychological thriller that takes place almost entirely on an air-born jumbo jet en route to New York, from Berlin. Jodie Foster plays Kyle, a mother who find that her daughter is missing after awaking from a nap. To compound matters further, imagine that no one remembers seeing your child on board and all passenger lists and appropriate documentation lead to a conclusion that your child never set foot in the flying tube 30,000 feet above the Atlantic. How many places could she be, right? That’s the question everyone on board is asking. But when the Captain (Sean Bean) finds out that no one saw Kyle’s daughter on board, that she’s been through a lot of stress. Peter Sarsgaard, is Carson, the sky marshal traveling in the economy section. He is in charge of the safety of the passengers on the flight. If one is expecting an original story, he/she will likely come out disappointed. However, it remains enjoyable if one just sees it simply as a story that, while not original, is a story told. Watch Dark Ride film. A film “Dark Ride” by Craig Singer. I was extremely excited to see this movie. While this film was very obviously inspired by Tobe Hooper’s slasher film, “The Funhouse”, it honestly is nowhere near as good. But would one expect it to be any better?. The writing was not great, but there was some great jokes within the film itself. There is a great kill scene that involves decapitation and oral sex. It was good stuff. Dark Ride was exactly what it is suppose to be!. A throw back to the 80 horror movie of college age kids being killed and then the surprise twist ending. the characters did all of the stupid things that you would expect them to, there was gratuitous nudity and blood (in a few parts) and the killer and setting were very creepy. Watch Amelie film. A film “Amelie” by Jean-Pierre Jeunet. A slice of heaven right here on earth, “Amelie” is a joy to behold, and has some of the most gorgeous cinematography I’ve ever seen in a movie. This movies biggest crime, and yet its biggest asset, is that it is in French. Subtitles just does not bring full justice to a movie like this, and it is bound to scare off most of the audience not used to subtitled movies. The film is full of surprises in both plot and characters. I left the theatre feeling lighter. It is truly one of a kind, eccentric, unusual and uplifting. I will not say more on it as it would spoil the fun. Amélie’s conflict is what rounds out the picture and makes it complete. The movie is deep and takes Amélie’s inner struggle seriously, but it’s never heavy. If not for anything else, see it for Tautou’s performance, but prepare to be smothered in a dream world.
