Watch Five Minutes Of Heaven film. A film “Five Minutes Of Heaven” by Oliver Hirschbiegel. This film brilliantly portrays the anguish of two men, one who hates and can’t forgive another, and one who regrets and can’t forgive himself. Men who had killed for and against both the protestant loyalist and Catholic republican sides of NI’s divide were released, leaving a bittersweet taste in the mouths of supporters for peace. Giffen has a slightly one-dimensional view of how things have panned out over the past 30 years. He has been stuck for the most part in a tedious factory job. Little, though having served 12 years in prison now gives talks about conflict and the burden of being a killer. In no other historical or fictional portrayal have I heard so simply but properly explained why people got involved in violence in the six counties of Ireland. The media circus surrounding the first half just highlights the exploitative characteristics of the modern media, nothing more. Some of the accusatory dialogue against the medias laziness and cyphers, when misrepresenting the conflict was fruitful but given the hype, an overall disappointing effort. [..YouTube..] I personally thought five minutes of heaven could have been done better. it was very good. dont get me wrong. however some of the acting was suspect and i thought the story could have been developed a little further. 8/10.

[..YouTube..] I’m not sure I agree with you there. The idea was to focus on the two men and the other characters were just the film crew or bystanders. The TV crew gopher was meant to represent a disinterested observer, a foreign girl who does not have any experience of the Troubles and represented the innocence that both men have lost. Evoking the loneliness of regret, guilt and grief would not have worked any other way. It deserves a much wider release and is a good companion to Nesbitt’s other roles.

[..YouTube..] An intimate movie. A refreshing change from mindless and dumb action filled movie.Noteworthy to be mentioned that not all murderers actually regret their past crime. A few people perhpas even proud of what they did wrong and live on to live a good life with no burden on their conscience since they have none really.I’m not saying that revenge is justified but let’s put it that some people do not deserve to be called human. Bad copy of humanity. A shame..
