I have enjoyed watching other movies also from director Darren Aronofsky but Black Swan is a notch higher than the rest. He has clearly outperformed himself. My hat off to Portman with her complete determination and amazing performance. She deserved the Golden Globe and hopefully the Academy Award as well. Black Swan, once the dust has settled, will prove to be a most divisive film. More so when under the scrutiny of a repeat viewing. How it holds up after the exhilaration of that first viewing has faded will be most interesting to observe. Still aside from the sorrow and pain the film brings it’s well blended with determination and will power that obtains satisfaction.
