Watch Amazing Grace film. A film “Amazing Grace” by Michael Apted. This is an inspiring story based on a legendary historical British Member of Parliament, William Wilberforce. During the late 18th century and early 19th century, a very young Wilberforce is elected to Parliament and over the course of several decades leads the fight to ban slavery. The most charming parts were fodder provided by the fabulous screen writing and brought to electric life by Ioan Gruffudd as impassioned Wilberforce, Benedict Cumberpatch as driven and farseeing William Pitt, P.M., Romola Garai as Wilberforce’s zesty and feisty wife Barbara and the surprisingly fantastic delivery by Jeremy Swift as Ioan’s long-suffering wise butler. It was gorgeous to look at, brilliantly capturing the look and sound of a sumptuous age. Benedict Cumberbatch gives a strong representation of William Pitt, and the overall impression of the film is one whose history has been well researched. Well worth a viewing. watch The Downfall: Hitler And The End Of The Third Reich film. A film “The Downfall Hitler And The End Of The Third Reich” by Oliver Hirschbiegel. This film definitely is a must-see because of the incomparable degree of realism displayed in it. The cast are really great. These are mostly German stars, some not very famous, but they perform wonderfully. Bruno Ganz portrays Hitler really well. From fury and devil’s cruelty to politeness and calmness. The movie balances well between large-scale effects of bombs exploding in ruined streets and depictions of different persons going though the experience – from Hitler and his staff in the well-protected bunkers to the principal military commanders torn between reason and loyalty and German civilians trapped in an inferno. In a way, a human Hitler to me is more guilty than a raving monster. He had the choice and he chose to do wrong. He could choose life and he chose murder and destruction. Watch Letters from Iwo Jima film. A film “Letters from Iwo Jima” by Clint Eastwood. To the Japanese, Iwo jima was a part of their homeland where a foreign invader was going to land and begin its invasion on Japanese soil. n October, Clint Eastwood launched the hyped ”Flags of our Fathers”, that was said to be the champion of the year. However, the movie was a huge disappointment, proving to be a clichéd war drama that added nothing new to the genre. Ken Watanabe shines as general Tadamishi Kuribayachi (or something similar). He shows why he’s one of the most talented Japanese actors around and proves he deserves another Oscar nomination. The strangest part of all. Clint Eastwood has made a Japanese movie that the Japanese should have made. This movie shows better than any other film that there’s really no good guys or bad guys when it comes to war. Watch Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon film. A film “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” by Ang Lee. Crouching Tiger is Ang Lee’s take on the Wu Xia tradition of film making. Wu Xia, for those not familiar with the style, evolved out of popular Chinese fiction. The camera rises, we see an almost impossible panorama of Peking, the Forbidden City spreading out before us like an Oz extending to the horizon. here were so many different layers to the plot. There were many things that couldn’t be explained with dialogs that were expressed in the characters’ faces. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is a film of titanic proportions, with all the pageantry of Kundun, minus the ponderous pace, and without a trace of the cloying sentimentalism which infected Titanic’s impoverished narrative. Watch Deep Blue Sea film. A film “Deep Blue Sea” by Renny Harlin. This is a lot better than people seem to think. Its a good shark movie, but completely different then the more sedate Jaws and some of the scenes are actually quite scary. The plot centers around a group of scientists trying to genetically engineer the brains of sharks to help find a cure for Alzheimer’s Disease. All they end up doing is making a trio of hungry sharks smart enough to hunt in packs and wipe out most of the humans in the underwater facility. ‘Deep Blue Sea‘ is not a classic movie, but it delivers in its own modest way. If you can’t get enough movies about people and the sharks that eat them, you can do much worse than this. Watch free full Deep Blue Sea film online.
Watch Anna And The King film. A film “Anna And The King” by Andy Tennant. Anna and the King is an epic film about a British woman who accepts an offer to go to Siam (Thailand) to teach western education to the King of Siam’s 58 children. Upon reaching Siam, Ms. Leonowens (Jodie Foster) is made to find her way to the King’s palace by herself and subsequently made to wait weeks before she is allowed to meet him. The story also had some constructive subtleties. In addition to the obvious storylines about the education of the children, the effect Anna was having on the King and the impending war, there was a deeper message. The photography and costumes should be automatic nominees for Oscar. For that matter, both Jodie and Chow could comfortably fit in their respective nominee lists for Best Actor and Best Actress. Watch First Knight film. A film “First Knight” by Jerry Zucker. I don’t see why people are making so much noise against this movie. We all know this isn’t a history class. We all know this isn’t realistic in any way. It squashes what Camelot really is - an ideal - into about two and a bit hours of movie. Richard Gere is charming as Lancelot, a roving swordsman, and Lady Guinevere delivers an outstanding performance as the young woman torn between two loves. Sean Connery, is as always, fantastic. The end of this movie is one of the more moving scenes I’ve ever seen. The performances by Connery, Ormond and Gere up to that point make what could have been silly or forced seem touching and beautiful. All three of the protagonists are in love with each other for one reason or another and the battle scenes are not half as moving as the dynamics of their relationships. Watch Der Untergang film. A film “Der Untergang” by Oliver Hirschbiegel. This film definitely is a must-see because of the incomparable degree of realism displayed in it. Der Untergang is not a movie, as some people would probably expect, that shows the leaders of the Third Reich as real monsters. It is a psychological attempt at creating a slightly different image of Hitler and his closest “companions” than has been preferred by many so far. The “monsters” appear to have human feelings. They, however, have mostly dark rather than black souls. t was very brave to make this film, given that controversy was almost certain to arise. Watch free full Untergang, Der (2004) film online. Watch Schindler’s List film. A film “Schindler’s List” by Steven Spielberg. This is the best war film about the Holocaust I have ever seen. It depicts the horrors of the Holocaust and war, the tragedy of Jewish nation, and I know, this film could be directed by a Jew, who keeps these horrible times and crimes against humanity in his heart. The Actors too were completely fantastic! Every single actor and extra seemed to be doing their very best and really lived their roles, especially Ralph Fiennes, who was brilliant as the twisted Nazi Amon Goeth. Not just anyone could make that character real and get away with it. Schindler’s List is a film that everyone should see and appreciate to its fullest extent. Watch A Mighty Heart film. A film “A Mighty Heart” by Michael Winterbottom. This is an intimate film. Basically a love story set in the political wreckage after the attack on the World Trade Center. As such, we don’t get much detail about the different factions in Pakistan or who is “good” or “bad”. the power of the camera which moves across the streets of Karachi and into the homes of its citizens, creates a pulse that moves the film forward with both excitement, dread and fear. Fear for not only Daniel Pearl’s life, but for many victims of the destructive nature of terrorism the world over. A Mighty Heart is a story that is tough to experience, but also one needing to be seen. There are few things that I can say went wrong with the film, and although I may never have the necessity to view it again, I’m glad I took the time to sit down with this tale of hope, compassion, and life in the midst of devastating tragedy.
