I love how they build up all their characters to where you really care about them. The way the film traces the same period of time more than once from several different perspectives was also very innovative. The movie actually had a firm grasp on my attention throughout its duration. That’s amazing considering that many of the shots were just tracking shots following kids around as they walked through the halls. Sant’s movie’s to date and his brooding presence is more likely to incite thought rather than a depiction of Columbine which is neatly packaged with liberal sensitivity.
