A film “Master And Commander: The Far Side Of The World” director by Peter Weir. “Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World” is half swashbuckling action movie, half detailed examination of life in the 19th-century British navy, and all entertaining. This movie manages to tread a fine line between gritty realism and Boy’s Own, portraying the pursuit of an elite French warship by an older embattled British frigate. The cast even had a sort of boot camp training so that everyone knew how to make the ship function. I especially enjoyed the details of life at sea, though most would call them boring. The day after my 5-day rental, I had to run to the nearest shop and buy the DVD. The conclusion is a great blending of commonality of human cause and duty. You guys can´t say it does not have a plot because the movie is based in 4 or 3 of the 21 books which make the whole aubrey/maturin story! If you liked the characters and want to learn more about the whole story from the beginning and read the great adventures of “Lucky Jack Aubrey” search for his books the first one is called Master and Commander but it´s not like the movie. This movie is based more in the book called ” The far Side of the World” and ” The H.M.S. Surprise” good luck and really read those books you´ll find them incredibly entertaining! [..YouTube..] When I saw the trailer they had the picture of that Portuguese woman with the umbrella, and I was expecting a love story. Haha, didn’t get one, and I’m glad for it. The way they cut up the trailer is deceiving in a way!
