The film does a great job of showing these two people grieving their loss, and does an even better job of suggesting that these two will get over their loss in time. I decided to watch this film for curiosity. Fortunately, my prejudices were wrong, because Rabbit Hole is an intense and brilliant drama with an unusual tone which does not try. One was when she was talking about Kennedy and the basement scene with Kidman. She was endearing and I felt the sincerity of her performance. It’s the entire movie and atmosphere and the interactions between the different characters that is important. Contrary to my initial impressions, it did not feel boring at all. Mitchell delves into the very essence of how we as humans differ in the way we deal with our grief, and that we forget our sorrows.The story ends leaving the audience to figure out just how things will resolve.
