This film basically relies on a script that throws in a cash-strapped and irresponsibly reckless beach bum with his bubbly, female sidekick; a wealthy English gent whose home and life. McConaughey must have taken a bottle of over-acting pills before every scene. His over-the-top attempt to be cutesy and endearing proved simply irritating and alienating. It was a performance similar to a junior high drama student. Painful and trite. I use to listen to a friend of my all the time about movies and would eventually see them and disagree most of the time and feel misinformed about how good a movie is.
