The movie itself is so wonderfully funny and it’s characters are drawn from a place of obvious affection and nostalgia that I just loved it for itself. This comes from a strong history starting with The State, and a bunch of shows in between. The movie is basically a mess, there are so many scenes that lay eggs and fall flat on their faces but the scenes that do work and the moments. It’s a wonderful movie to watch as many times as possible because the creators have added such absurd, meticulous details to the film that cannot be picked up in just one viewing. My favorite moments include Molly Shannon getting relationship advice from an 8 year old, the kid who wouldn’t take a shower, and the wrecking of the infirmary. hell, just rent the video.
